Ingredients:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
-
Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
-
Cream Butter and Sugars: In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth and creamy.
-
Add Eggs and Vanilla: Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
-
Mix Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
-
Stir in Chocolate Chips: Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
-
Shape the Cookies: Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
-
Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. The centers may still look a bit soft, but they will firm up as they cool.
-
Cool: Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
-
Enjoy: Once cooled, enjoy your homemade chocolate chip cookies with a glass of milk or your favorite beverage!
Tips:
- For extra chewy cookies, add an extra egg yolk.
- If you like a bit of crunch, you can add chopped nuts to the dough.
- To make the cookies even more chocolatey, consider using a mix of semisweet and dark chocolate chips.
Enjoy your baking!
