Ingredients:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.

  2. Cream Butter and Sugars: In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth and creamy.

  3. Add Eggs and Vanilla: Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.

  4. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

  5. Stir in Chocolate Chips: Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.

  6. Shape the Cookies: Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

  7. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. The centers may still look a bit soft, but they will firm up as they cool.

  8. Cool: Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

  9. Enjoy: Once cooled, enjoy your homemade chocolate chip cookies with a glass of milk or your favorite beverage!

Tips:

  • For extra chewy cookies, add an extra egg yolk.
  • If you like a bit of crunch, you can add chopped nuts to the dough.
  • To make the cookies even more chocolatey, consider using a mix of semisweet and dark chocolate chips.

Enjoy your baking!
